Today was a special day for me and one I will always remember. This morning I had a group from Bertie County. We started casting for blues landing 6 and pulling off probably 12-15 fish. Then we switched to trout fishing and man was it special. We only caught one trout but we made it count. The fish kept us guessing about what it was going to be and finally I got my eye on the fish and started shaking. After landing the fish I just looked in shock at his size and girth. This speckled trout measured out 31 inches in length and weighed right at 8 pounds. Congratulations to Bryan on his citation Speckled trout. After that we decided we used alll our luck trouting and switched to drum fishing. We landed one drum before heading home. This afternoon we looked for schools and drifted with some success. We landed 2 keepers and saw a lot more fish we couldn’t get to bite. I enjoyed the afternoon with Jessie, Ian, and Coy. Coy spends a lot of times guiding the mountains of Peru and it’s below freezing many nights which is to cold for me. I am open both morning and afternoon on Monday (252)-305-7755.
